Rooftop

Rooftop solar installations are used for residential or small commercial buildings and involve solar panels mounted on the roofs of buildings.

As a rooftop solar energy installer, you'll use hands-on skills like working at heights, using power tools, reading technical plans, and understanding basic electrical systems to safely install and wire solar panels on rooftops, making mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and physical fitness key assets for the job.

Commercial

Commercial solar installations are larger than residential rooftop systems and are used to power business and industrial facilities through ground-mounted solar arrays or rooftop installations on warehouses, offices, and factories.

The work often involves designing and implementing complex systems tailored to meet the unique needs of commercial properties, which can include ground-mounted arrays, rooftop systems, or carport installations.

Utility Scale

Utility-scale solar represents the largest segment in terms of capacity and involves large solar farms that feed directly into the electricity grid. These projects are often installed on large plots of land and can power thousands of homes or businesses.

The work involves planning, designing, constructing, and operating these large-scale systems, requiring expertise in civil engineering, electrical design, project management, and environmental science.
